Uppymama

Babies love to be carried. And, of course, the most discerning babies prefer to be carried in locally-handwoven, organic cotton babywearing gear.

Last Call

Award-winning documentary photographer George Webber wields a subtle power. I went home ill at least once during the course of this project, entirely due to a very intense photo of a porkchop. Webber is also a dangerously talented writer, and his accompanying journals are well worth a read. There are two versions to choose from: standard hardcover and limited edition hardcover. The latter comes signed, numbered (x/300), inset with a glossy photo and packaged in a slipcase.

Check out more of Webber’s work or get the limited edition from The Camera Store.

An Adventurous Woman Abroad

At a time when her peers were still sitting around in corsets, Mary Schäffer was tromping through swamps, bushwacking over mountainous terrain and chewing on the toughest goat meat you can imagine. This is her collection of hand-tinted lantern slides, shot during her expeditions in Canada, Formosa and Japan.

Here's another series of Japanese lantern slides, this time by acclaimed artist T. Enami.

The Will of the Land

This book features photographs of an epic battle between a grizzly bear and a pack of wolves. Need I say more?
